Yoga effective treatment for rheumatoid arthritis?
A pilot study revealed that as few as 12 sessions of yoga could significantly improve the conditions of rheumatoid arthritis sufferers.
The study was presented before the 13th Congress of the APL of Associations for Rheumatology in Yokohama, Japan by a team of Specialists from the United Arab Emirates.
A specialist rheumatologist, from the Dubai Bone and Joint Center, Dr. Badsha expressed the opinion: ‘It is possible that yoga may have important physical and psychological benefits for patients with rheumatoid arthritis.’
Dr. Badsha is the lead investigator of several clinical trials of different medications for RA. The study was funded by the Emirates Arthritis Foundation. The foundation has taken a front seat in the education and well being of arthritis patients in the UAE since 2006.
