When setting up an exercise routine is it better to do aerobics then strengh train or use separate days?

Yoga and Pilates Mat
I am trying to get started working out and I don't know if having your heart rate up high and then lying down for yoga or mat pilates is a good thing.
It's best to do both on alternate days. The aerobics help burn the fat and getting a little muscle will help boost your metabolism.

i think aerobics will take u more time to be stronger than a strenght train. i started swimming about 1 month ago and my shoulders are really big and strong. i did aerobics too but it never really helped me.
Hope it helps!!

Depending on what you're trying to accomplish you shoul do aerobics everyday. In any case it is best to have a cool down period between aerobic and strength exercise.

What is your goal?
Cardiovascular fitness or muscle gain?
Do you want to trim down and look fit?
Weight training as a general rule is better to lose than aerobics because you continually burn calories even after you finish your workout. Cardo excercise only burns while you are doing it.
That bieng said, for weight loss HIIT is the best type of cardio excercise you can do especially when combined with a weight routine designed to tone your muscles.
